| Breaking News | | Sunday, September 26th, 2027: Toledo Trades Champino to Des Moines for Murphy
Today at a press conference the Toledo Sword Masters announced a trade has been completed with the Des Moines Monks. The Sword Masters have shipped 25-year old left fielder Marcos Champino to the Monks for 41-year old starting pitcher Ben Murphy.
This year Champino has hit at a .184 clip with 7 hits, 1 home run, 5 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
In 2027 Murphy has a 12-9 record with a 4.14 ERA. |
| Friday, September 17th, 2027: Bad News for Monks, Valéncia Injured
Jorge Valéncia and the Des Moines Monks got a bad break in today's game against the Great Danes as the team confirmed he will miss 2-3 weeks with a concussion. The Monks center fielder suffered the injury making a defensive play. The team doctor is confident he'll make a full recovery.
In 2027 Valéncia has hit at a .300 clip with 186 hits, 20 home runs, 72 RBIs and has scored 117 times. |
| Monday, September 6th, 2027: Star of the Week Awarded in IBC
This week's standout performer in the International Baseball Conference was first baseman Luis Rodríguez of the Des Moines Monks.
He belted out a .462 average and was voted the Player of the Week. Over the last week Rodríguez collected 12 hits in 26 at-bats and 3 home runs, drove in 11 runs and scored 7 times.
This year Rodríguez is batting .332 with 28 home runs. He has scored 101 runs and driven in 83. |
