Saturday, November 11th, 2006: Prado for Soto in Big Trade
Players on both teams seemed a bit stunned as they cleaned out lockers this afternoon. They had just learned that the Columbus and Mexico City had just concluded a blockbuster trade. 26-year old closer Edgar Prado went to Aztecs and 28-year old second baseman Adrián Soto to the Mudcats. One of the players told reporters, "Baseball's a business. I know that. That doesn't make the jolt of being traded any less painful."

During his career Prado has been credited with 29 saves, while compiling a 28-16 won-lost mark.

For his career Soto has hit at a .276 clip. Among his lifetime numbers are 802 hits, 187 doubles, 21 triples, 81 home runs and 444 RBIs.
Friday, September 22nd, 2006: Rumor du Jour; Mexico City's Rivera Demanding Trade
It appears to be only a rumor, but earlier today, fans around Mexico City were buzzing with the news that their 32-year-old reliever Júlio Rivera had been asking for a trade. "I couldn't imagine him saying bad things about Mexico City or wanting to leave." said one person.
Tuesday, September 19th, 2006: González Connects for 3 Homers for Lone Stars
Hipolito González went on a hitting rampage at Lone Star Ballpark today and got membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He walloped three into the stands to pace the Lone Stars to a 4-2 victory over the Mexico City Aztecs.

The Houston center fielder collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 4 and scored 3 runs.

After his three-home run game he said this to the press: "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too."

H. González hit a solo-shot off H. Yen in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off P. Ausenhus in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off M. Anderson in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.

This year González has hit at a .227 pace and produced 51 RBIs, 16 home runs and scored 56 runs.
