| Breaking News | | Tuesday, October 17th, 2006: Baltimore Sweeps World Series Today the Blue Claws fans broke out the brooms at Ripken Field and it worked -- Baltimore swept the Louisiana Crawfish 4-0 and are the 2006 North American Baseball Alliance World Series champions for the 2nd time in their history.
The Blue Claws derailed Louisiana 5-4 to rap up the title.
Baltimore finished the season with a record of 101-61 and ranked first in the Eastern Circuit Northeastern Division. | | Friday, October 13th, 2006: Carrillo Belts 5 Hits It seemed that Baltimore right fielder Diego Carrillo could do no wrong as the Blue Claws kayoed the Crawfish 14-3 today as he rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Louisiana pitchers couldn't get him out as Carrillo seemed to know which pitches they were throwing.
"I think the Blue Claws were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Louisiana fan.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," exclaimed the jubilant Carrillo in the postgame press interview.
D. Carrillo doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, hit a three-run triple in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.
This season Carrillo has hit at a .273 clip with 23 RBIs, 4 home runs and 24 runs scored. | | Friday, October 6th, 2006: Page Baffles Los Angeles "That was one of my best outings," said Greg Page. "I was worried a lot in the bullpen. My ball wasn't quite right. Luckily, it can be two different worlds -- the bullpen and the game. Once I stepped on the field, it all fell into place."
It was an impressive start for the Crawfish hurler. He blanked the Whales 1-0 on a strong 6-hitter while ringing up 5 strikeouts and doling out 2 walks.
To date this year in 30 starts, Page has crafted a 14-8 mark with a 3.61 ERA. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | RF Wilbert McCarthy | torn back muscle | 2 weeks | On DL, eligible for return (60-day DL) | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 101-61, .623 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 50-31, .617 PCT | | Record on the road | 51-30, .630 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 12-8, .600 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 26-18, .591 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 30-11, .732 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 71-50, .587 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 4-6, .400 PCT | | Record in April | 14-8, .636 PCT | | Record in May | 22-6, .786 PCT | | Record in June | 15-14, .517 PCT | | Record in July | 18-10, .643 PCT | | Record in August | 17-8, .680 PCT | | Record in September | 15-14, .517 PCT | | Record in October | 0-1, .000 PCT |
