William Baird sent shock waves through the press corps when he spoke complimentarily of the Gators this afternoon. Saying that the team "takes care of its players," Baird dropped the bombshell that he could see himself playing in a Gators uniform and that if he were offered a good deal, he would have to really think about it before turning it down.

Today at a press conference the Lowcountry Gators announced a trade has been completed with the Baltimore Blue Claws. The Gators have shipped 33-year old third baseman Tom Palmer to the Blue Claws for 29-year old left fielder Joseph Buckner.
During his career Palmer has notched 1115 hits and a .261 average with 62 home runs and 461 RBIs.
Lifetime Buckner has played in 212 games, batted .225 with 6 home runs and 50 base hits.

 | Tuesday, November 11th, 2177: Benny Dobson Captures EC Most Valuable Player Award
What a way to finish off the year -- being honored with the 2177 Most Valuable Player Award in the Eastern Circuit. It had already been a very special season for Lowcountry's Benny Dobson, but today's announcement really put the icing on his cake.
All season long Benny Dobson gave opposing pitchers fits by hitting .331 as he collected 204 hits, 49 doubles, 8 triples, 47 home runs and 136 RBIs.
